The only way is up for this apartment on the Hackney-Islington border; given that it was a top floor flat, and the clients required more space. The apartment was very compact with a bedroom, small bathroom, kitchen and lounged, sitting on a split level of a Victorian terraced house. The brief was to maximise all available space, and to reduce the impact of the noise from the very busy Green Lanes that is only a couple of meters away from the front of the building.
